《易經》這本書很古老，也很重要。古老是因為傳說它的作者是伏羲、周文王、孔子三位聖人；說它重要是因為，它是「群經之首」、「大道之源」，諸子百家都從這裡汲取營養。《莊子》裡面說，「易以道陰陽。」易經里認為，萬事萬物都是陰陽構成的，而八卦、64卦也是由陰陽構成的，所以我們能夠「感而遂通」，通過卦象去認識、了解、預測。所以說「易與天地准，故能彌綸天地之道。」
